Join the Adventure with TerraShield® and Melaleuca

Featured from the doTERRA Blog

The effectiveness of an essential oil comes in part from its source plant’s ability to create a vapor barrier using essential oils. This vapor barrier protects the plant from threats in its natural environment. When we use essential oils, we can take advantage of the same benefits to protect ourselves. TerraShield®, doTERRA’s unique Outdoor Blend, acts as a natural and effective barrier to protect against outdoor annoyances or threats thanks to the combination of natural repellants Cedarwood, Arborvitae, and catnip oils. Other oils including Lemon Eucalyptus, Litsea, Nootka, Tamanu, and Ylang Ylang make up the rest of this aromatic blend.

Tea Tree, or Melaleuca is TerraShield’s counterpart, with the capability to protect you from both seasonal and environmental threats.* Tea Tree oil can also be used to help soothe occasional skin irritations. When you experience occasional skin irritations, apply one to two drops of Tea Tree oil onto the affected area, using doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil to dilute the oil if necessary. Together, this blend and single oil from Australia represent the ultimate in outdoor protection.

How to Use TerraShield and Melaleuca on Your Adventure

The 30 mL spray bottle makes applying TerraShield easy. Before going into the great outdoors, spray it anywhere your skin is exposed. The extra benefit of having an all-natural spray is that it is safe to use on skin of all ages, from children to grandparents. You can also use it to protect your tent, camper, or home by spraying it around doorways and windows. If you have aromatherapy jewelry, spray some TerraShield on it for similar protection.

Melaleuca, on the other hand, can be used topically on any occasional skin irritations you may experience. To take advantage of its protection from environmental and seasonal threats, take one to two drops of Tea Tree oil in a Veggie Capsule.*

Additional Tea Tree Benefits

When you come home from your escapades, we all know our shoes probably smell less-than great. Melaleuca is an excellent oil to put on the bottom of your feet and in your shoes for a refreshing scent. You can also use it in your shampoo for a refreshing scent and cleansing effects that will rejuvenate your scalp.

Diffusing Tea Tree oil benefits the air in your home as it has the ability to purify and freshen as it disperses. When diffusing Melaleuca oil on its own, use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice. You can use those same purifying benefits by putting Melaleuca in your homemade cleaners and also put its powers against environmental threats to work.
